Frequently asked questions
Straight answers to the questions small business owners ask me most. If yours is not here, just ask.
Cost and timing
How much does a website cost?
It depends on how many pages you need and what the site has to do. The packages on the pricing page show typical starting points, and after a quick chat I will give you a fixed quote in writing. The price you agree to is the price you pay.
How long does it take to build a website?
Most small business websites take a few weeks from our first chat to launch. The biggest factor is usually content: once I have your wording and photos, things move quickly. Your proposal will include a realistic timeline.
Working together
Do I own my website?
Yes. Your domain is registered in your name, your content is yours, and you can take your website elsewhere at any time. I do not believe in locking clients in.
What do I need to provide?
Your logo if you have one, any photos you would like to use, and the basics about your business and services. Do not worry if your wording is not polished. I can help shape it into clear, persuasive copy.
Maintenance and existing websites
What does website maintenance actually cover?
Keeping your site secure and up to date, making regular backups, watching for downtime, and handling small changes like new photos, updated prices or opening hours. If something breaks, you message me and I fix it.
Can you fix or take over my existing website?
Yes. I can start with a check-up of your current site, tell you honestly what is worth keeping, and then fix, speed up or look after it. Sometimes a few fixes are all you need, and sometimes a rebuild makes more sense. I will tell you which.
Ready for a website that works as hard as you do?
Tell me what you need. You will get honest advice and a clear, fixed quote, with no obligation and no hard sell.
